ESSE range cookers combine the traditional cast iron qualities of a classic British range cooker with modern performance, control and energy efficiency.
There are models in all fuel types to suit any type of home, and they share the common bond of fuel economy.
Whether it’s gas, electric, oil or wood, all ESSEs are designed to squeeze every last drop of energy out of your chosen fuel, ensuring that running costs are kept to a minimum.
ESSE engineers have designed each model for even oven temperatures and continuously high performance. The electric EL 13Amp benefits from ‘Power Share’ technology, which ‘pulses’ energy around the cooker to where it is needed, rather than allocating only a set amount to the ovens or hotplate. It also uses wrap-around elements so you can even cook on the base of the oven. The wood-burning ESSE 990 uses twin catalytic combustors below the hotplate to ‘reburn’ any smoke particles, resulting in miniscule CO emissions of just 0.01%, which we believe makes it the cleanest-burning cooker of its kind in the world! The flueless CAT Gas is another good illustration of ESSE’s commitment to energy efficiency; it uses a single 7kW burner to heat two generous ovens and a large hotplate. It can cook dish after dish without any drop in performance. The catalytic burner ‘cleans’ the gas as it uses it, so you don’t even need a flue to vent outside.
The founding principle of making clean and efficient appliances drives ESSE today as it did in 1854.
